The Minnesota Twins had won 16 straight games versus the Detroit Tigers, but it all ended as the Twins were destroyed by the motor-city team 9-2. They made several base-running gaffes, and the umpire made a horrible call that allowed the game to get away from the Twins, who are now 4.5 games behind Kansas City. The White Sox were lsoing last time I checked, which is a good thing. The Saints won, but they won't have a winning record in the second half. The NFL also started, with the American Bowl being played in Tokyo. The defending champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers won 20-7 over the New York Jets. Don't worry though, most teams who do well in the pre-season end up stinking in the regular one. The Packers start their 2003 odyssey in Kansas City on Monday night in the hall of fame game versus the Chiefs, on ABC at 9:00 ET.
