Liked the pun, huh? An, I am happy to announce that we have gained a new convert to hockey, here, appropriately enough, in the state of hockey. That's right. Semi-faithful reader Glenn went to the game on Thursday, courtesy of Northwest Airlines, and watched the Wild win. Nothing wrong with that, huh? The Wild have now won 3 in a row, which is pretty sweet. With Marian Goborik back on the team, we should finish with a solid spot in the playoffs, probably somewhere between 4-7. I don't have much hope in the usurping the Colorado Avalanche, who have won their division 10 times in a row, or something like that. Still though, in hockey and also in basketball, winning a division means nothing. Winning the championship means everything.
Meanwhile, the Wolves, one night after setting a franchise record with just 61 points, give up just 56 to the Raptor, and win. They are now 2-1, and even though it is obviously very early in the season, they should do pretty well.
The Gophers also had a good day, winning mens football 55-7 over Indiana, as well as a swimming meet with northwestern pretty handily. On the womens side, they won in hockey and volleyball. Have a good night, now.
Go Wild!
Hey, they gotta be all right -- Norm brought them here!
