Fun in Pitt

Well, I have some unfortunate news to tell you. A pitcher named Ken Brett, aged 55, died today from brain cancer. He was never a great, but he pitched for 13 seasons, for 10 different teams. That is really astounding. He even had a lifetime batting average of .262, which is very good for a pitcher.
Anyway, onto the fun news. With 38 seconds to go in the first period of the Wilds game versus Pittsburgh at 41 year-old Mellon Arena, Antii Laaksonen scored his second goal of the night. Then the power went out. It was rather disconserting, seeing as the players took their first intermission even before the period had ended. The officials allowed the players to come back out and finish the first, and then immediatly start the second period. I don't know if they had some sort of break in between, or whether they just had a whistle and a face-off back in the center. Either way, at the end of 2 periods, the Wild lead 4-0. Now, with 10 minutes to go, the Wild have a 3 goal lead. To bad Roloson couldn't get the shutout, but whatever. Good night
