Sweet...

So, on my last day writing this writing this writing this, and that is not a typo, just get a little better inflection, all my teams won. The Saints won. Heck, the rotten mess they honor with the name "professional baseball team" Milwaukee Brewers won. But of course, the team that you and I and every little cat in the sky holds dear to out collective heart won. Convincingly. That's right, your Twinkies are, for at least one night, the chamoions of the world. Whatever that means.
Basically, what I'm trying to say is that I went to a game that the Twins won. And, my personal record of 0-3 versus the Bronx Bombers just got a little better. It was a beautiful sight tonight. The Metrodome, scene of so much, um, joy at a preseason win, just hours before played host to the greatest franchise in sports history. No, not Carl Pohlad's junta, but George Steinbrenner's dependant contractors. Sorry, I meant baseball players.
You can read the post game for yourselves. I just want to relate a couple tidbits as regards myself.
The place was packed. I love it when there are massive crowds. A lot of Yankees fans too. Ha! There were even some Jaoanese people there for Hideki Matsui. He had a great game, but his team still lost. After Gary Sheffield hit his solo job in the sixth everyone in the stands was quiet. Then a couple Yankees fans started cheering. So this one guy, about twenty-five I'd say, got up from his seat and proceeded to wave his middle digits at all the New York transplants for a good fifteen seconds. That quieted them down.
Several times people tried to start the Wave, but it really didn't work. Too many Saints fans I guess.
It is really amazing. I went to a Twins game, oh, three years ago. At the time they were about 4.5 behind the Indians in the Central. It was a Tuesday night versus the Blue Jays, late in the season. You know how many fans showed up? About 6,000. Isn't that sick? It was so much nicer to be there tonight, with 39,000 crazy people who all hated the Yankees.
Well, I'll issue updates periodically, so keep in touch. bye

All right

No sports now. Well, I'll just write that the Indians lost, so we have a 2.5 game lead over them now. Here's my prediction: We'll go 5-1 this week and 2-5 the next. See if I'm not right. I'll have no idea, because I'll be in LA. Lucky me. Yeah right. Bye

The end or an aberration?

Well, the Twins won today. Mazel Tov. Shalom Al Yisrael. Sound the trumpets and buccinas. Let the band play the songs of joy. Bring on the dancing girls...Hold on there younf feller, wait a scond on that one. Some people might not approve of prancing females. I do, but only in certain situations. Like when they're behind partitions. I was at an event where at least oone did not restrict herself from the correct, male chauvinist, approach. Namely, she exposed herself to the whims of a male-dominated society. Whatever. Anyway, hopefully the Twins can put this week behind them and concentrate on the week ahead. bye

EEK!

And the slump has officially started. The Twins lead is now just four games as they lose to the Mariners 4-3. They had just 4 hits, three of them homers. They even got the tying run on with two outs, but Corey Coskie pooped out. On the first pitch. Don't be surprised if in a week's time the lead for the Twins will be just one or two games. The Mariners scored all of their runs in the first off of Terry Mulholland, so maybe it wasn't quite fair, but the fact is that we lost. Dang. In fact, all the runs scored in on homers. I hate long ball. Just you remember that. Well, bye

I'm not even...

No sports today.
What else is there? Not much.
I could write about women.
But what don't you already know.
Or more to the point, what don't I know.
A lot, as a matter of fact.
Please, don't enlighten me, I'll have a good fifty years to find that out. Or more.
Hopefully more.
Ever wish for a tragedy? Life would be so much easier. No more work, or thinking, or whatever. People would just let you mope for as long as you wanted. Sure, they'd tell you to snap out of it, but if you keep on mpoing, they'll just give up. Even those persistent people ar ekind of fun. Who doesn't like it when someone dedicated their whole life to make you do something?
Just a thought.

All to say?

So I went to the Twins game today. Actually, I went to two. Or it seemed like that. The Twins battled the A's for 18 innings before losing 6-5. We had several oppurtunitys to win. A walk in the eighth with no one out? GIDP. First and second with one out? GIDP. Lew Ford, despite making several great catches in right field, was terrible at the plate. He went 1 for 4, but he also had 3 walks and was hit by a pitch. We had a lead in this game too. A 2-0 lead in the seventh evaporated, and Carlos Silva left at that point. Then the bull-pen turned in an inspired effort till Terry Mulholland, who is now officially in a slump, cam in. Heck, Joe Roa pitched 5 innings. Beautiful. Lew Ford was on first with one out when Justin Morneau hit a single up the middle. Lew tried to go to third on the play, but ended up caught in a pickle. He stopped in the middle too, which was terrible. And the worst thing was, Justin didn't even advance to second. Pathetic. And then, down by just one with no oyts in the 18th, Torii struck out swinging. There had been a lot of talk about how Hunter was carrying the team. Yeah right. We even got the tying run on base, but Corey Coskie hit a long drive that was caught. All right, so it was almost a hit. And then, with two out, Michael Cuddyer foul pops on the first pitch and the Twins lose. Has the guy never heard of taking a pitch?
Well, it was obviously the longest game I have ever been to. 4 hours and 57 minutes to be exact.
Oh well, we tried.
Andre Agassi won the Tennis Masters Event in Cincinatti today, which is really just a beautiful thing. He won it pretty handily too. I can definitely see him going far in the US Open.
more tommorow, bye

Perhaps?

So the Twins won. Nice. We have a six game lead. But wait, you ask, Chicago is seven back. And you're right. Incredibly, Cleveland is now in second place. That really is incredible. Chicago has really just totally collapsed. Two weeks ago they had a half-game lead in the division. That means they've dropped 7.5 in 14 days. My heart bleeds cold borscht for them. Meanwhile, the Saints won and are now tied for the division lead with Winnipeg. It might sound incredible, but it is possible or them to finish with the best record in the Northern League and not make the playoffs. Andre Agassi has been playing amazing tennis. Hopefully he can beat former #1 Hewitt tommorow. In other news, not much. Brett Favre threw 5 touchdowns in the Packers intrasquad game on Saturday night. The stadium was sold out for the event. Can you believe that? The Vikings, who have one of the most rabid fan-bases in football, don't even sell out pre-season games. Heck, last year they got 40,000 at a punter tryout in Milwaukee. In the winter. Crazy stuff. Well, that's why I love them. The Packers I mean. bye

It's...

If you could be one person in the whole of the universe, whether real or fictional, who would it be? Just a brief pause here, since the idiots lost I efuse to talk about them. At least the other idiots, the ones from Chicago, lost too. Well, back to the first topic. Who would you be? Perhaps Moses? No, I doubt it. I highly doubt that anyone could possibly enjoy being Moses. Perhaps Sigmund Freud? Wouldn't you enjoy analyzing your friends and neighbors for a small fee, all on the privacy of your living room couch? Perhaps you'd like to ba famous literary character? Mr. Darcy perhaps? Hey, you get to marry Elisabeth in the end. The point that I'm trying to make here is that life is categorically unfair. I am willing to bet that at least fifteen percent of the teenage population in this country thinks that my life is incredibly cool and fun and interesting and they would just love to switch with me. Basically, we're back to the age old thing of the grass always being greener on the other side of the hill. Would I still switch with someone? definitely. Heck, if I could relive my life, from, let's say, five years old, with what I know now, I would do it. So would virtually everybody for that matter. bye

Best ERA! Whoa!

That's right folks, with today's win the Twins became, at least statistically, the best pitching team in the majors with a 4.40 ERA. Or something like that. It It really is incredible that teams give up so many runs a game. Oh well, there's nothing that either one of us can do about it.
Some moron has posted a bunch of comments onto here: I asked Glenn to deal with it, as my computer refuses for some reason to delete more than one at a time which easily gets boring.
Anything else you ask? Well, there actually is. If I could remember it. Which I can't. Too bad. Oh, yeah, I have no idea if I'll be able to continue blogging come school year, I guess I can only hope and pray for the best.
Well then, bye

I'm Back!

That's right folks, I've returned from Colorado to rapturous applause! Well, not really, but whatever. The Twins are the hottest team in baseball, and that rocks. If you want more info on them than you can just beetle over to their website and see for yourself what I'm talking about. That rookie who we got in the Dougie trade might not look too hot, but it appears that he's been injured. Otherwise he is supposably incredible. Anyway though, Dougie will hit .305 next year for Boston with 23 homers and 91 RBI. He'll also win a gold-glove. After that he'll sign with the Yankees and stink. Works for me.
So, you're asking what I did in Colorado? Well, a host of cool things. Not really, but whatever. I enjoyed myself, and that's all that counts, right? I'm glad you agree. So I wasted the 15th of Av. By that I mean that I didn't get itched. I didn't even watch ny girls dancing. Too bad. Maybe next year. Oh well, have a good day, wherever you are, and check back later for more. bye
